The drivers seat recently gave way on the Litchfield so I decided to remove it this afternoon to see what could be done to fix it.

Seems it is a lost cause as it is riddled with woodworm and will need to be completely replaced. Even the covering on the back of the seat has lots of small holes where the woodworm have escaped from. Looks like a crash course in woodwork & upholstery is in order to build a new chair. Anyone know what the original wood would have been, Ash or Beech maybe ?

Introduction
Hello My name is Richard From Eastbourne
I have just joined this web site I have a 1933 austin 10 Tourer that I am currently restoring Ive had my share of difficulties with it, althogh I feel I am making good progress now but so often 1 problem follows another.I think I`ve learnt a lot with this project. I wish Darren every sucess with the seat repairs Seems woodworm have done their worse I`m pretty sure its not beech wood, beech is commonly use in household furniture and I don`t think its ash either although you could probably do a replacement with either.
I thought I should mention that I am a A.T.D.C. member joined less than a Year ago.
Look forward to hearing form anybody who cares to reply. I shall try to contact Darren by Phone I hope he wont mind the intrusion. P.S.Beech is a close grained wood of a pinky color with a fine fleck.
